Happy New Year all! This is Pooh signing on again
in vol. 2.  I have just recently had some trouble with my eyes - I have
found I don't like cedar chips! My owner has just taken the steps to
become a Member of the National Hamster Council.  I'm glad that more
people are beginning to see us not as merely rodents, but as
self-righteous furry critters!  As for me, I must go back to
antagonizing the cat (it's fun to chase him and watch him run) and munch
on brussel sprout leaves. Quite tasty!

I have had many hamsters.  My most special hamster was
ABC, Absolutely Beautiful Creature. I had him for three
years and what a joy he was in my life. He actually more
like a dog. We let him out in the back yard to sniff and
eat the grass, but when time to come in we just stood at
the back door and called his name and he came running. I
have never had a hamster quite like him  again.  Today I
just got a little girl.  She is a teddy bear hamster and 
her name is Buttons. Since she is as cute as a button.

My name is Teddy and I live in Norway, which is a nice place for a
little hamster to live. This year I must admit that it has been a little bit cold.
Earlier I used to get all the attention from my owner, but some months ago
she got a dog, so now I have to fight for her attention.
By the way, I must say that I am very proud about my self; I have jumped
down the stairs, and I survived! Is there anyone better? 
You must exuse my language, but at the age of 1, I have had so little time
to learn different languages. I did speak a lot of Hamster-language, but
after all my friends past away I haven't had anyone to talk to.
Well, I have to go no because my owner has to go and feed that stupid dog!

We have a 4 month old female syrian named "Oatmeal"
(for Peaches and Cream oatmeal) who we're nicknaming Robo-hamster.  She
has just broken her plastic wheel due to her weight and the vigorous way
in which she runs (all night of course!). We were away over New Year's
and came back to that and a flung water bottle. She chews on it so hard
that she finally tipped it off it's wire holder. Her other nickname is
Arnold Schwartzenhamster - from when she decides to stuff her entire
food bowl contents, treats and tissue into her pouches for an extended
sleep period.  Anybody else's furball have this habit, Oatmeal is our
first hamster - we love her, but didn't know she'd be so
entertaining!

My owner failed to mention that she owns an entire
village of Grey Russian Dwarf Hamsters, including, myself (Lil' E
(stands for little ewok because my owner says that's what our kind look
like)), my new wife, Half Pint, my former girlfriend, Killa, who lives
downstairs (in the other aquarium) (as her name attests, she's not very
hand tame), her son (and father of her new litter) Fox. We all love our
owner and she keeps us clean and let's us run free in her apartment. 
Personally, I love McDonald's french fries (so does Killa') we all love

Katastrophy, (don't you just love the spelling) who is
10 months, and Ruby, who is 5 months.  Ruby is a 
female, and she is a (long list now, hold your breath.)
Cinamon, banded, ruby-eyed, satin, and Katastrophy is
a golden.  Both are registered in my friend's registry,

near their cage!!!!!  If your hamsters are males, then
they can be taugt.  You should treat them with utter 
kindness.  The way I got Katastrophy, my male, off a
biting habit was every time I went to his cage I would
put my finger on his back and keep it their until he
got used to it.  Then, when your ready, grab him, but
only gently.  If this doesn't work, well then I just 
don't know!  Right now Kates, the biter, is very calm,
and can be lifted out of his cage without any warning!

Thanks for the info.  I have three hamsters and one
recently had babies (which WERE planned).  The babies were born late one
night when I was not awake, only to be found the next morning in the
nest of one of the other hamsters!  One of the other females took the
position of mother for some reason, and refuses to give them up.  A
godsend, considering we put the actual mother with the babies and she
began to attack them violently.  We keep the "new" mother separate with
the babies, and the real mother cannot hurt them.  Obviously the "new"
mother cannot nurse the babies, so I am feeding them by eyedropper.  It
has been 10 days now and they are doing fine.  They are now eating moist
grains on their own, and I guess the worst is over.  We are very proud
of our female who took over.  Shows the intelligence and instinct within
these little rodents.

Never thought I would ever see home pages on
hamsters.
It's great and cute too!  We recently have had a new
member added to our family named Harvey Hamster 
(a teddy bear hamster).  Only trouble is, we found out
the hard way that he bites (although it was probably
his only defense as our young child was trying to catch
him and he didn't want to be caught).  I have trouble
catching him to clean his cage but yesterday I was able
to cuddle him for a few minutes before putting him back
into the clean cage.  What I need to know is, will 
there ever be a time when we can bring him out to play
and cuddled without him creating a fuss?  Or is he
happier just to stay in his own domain and quietly 
observe us and let us observe him through the cage 
windows.  He really is adorable and funny to watch!

I currently have 9 fuzzy creatures:  Mouse, Red-Red,
Dotty, Gilligan, Ginger, Squirt, Petrina, Kiwi, and
Furbert.  Mouse is an albino, Red-Red & Dotty are 
regular Syrian hamster color, Gilligan & Ginger are
cinnamons, Squirt is tortoiseshell, and Petrina/Kiwi/
and Furbert are all VERY longhaired cinnamons. 
Would you believe that all of these critters are decen-
dents of a single hamster pair, Lunch & Dessert. 
Lunch was my first hamster--I acquired him when I 
happened to visit my boyfriend while he was feeding
his pet python with baby hamsters.  Lunch was the 
only one left, and I couldn't allow him to get munched!
So, I rescued him and named him "Lunch" as that's 
what he would have been if I hadn't rescued him.
Lunch passed away almost 2 years ago, but he left 
me with a legacy of "Hamster Attacks" (when one 
of these comes on, I have to bury my face in the belly
of one of these fuzzy critters for a minimum of 5 mins).

think they are the cutest most adorable little creatures alive. my first
hamster's name was Ginger. Once when my family went on vacation and she
was preganant she escaped from her cage and you can guess what happened
next....when we came back we found Ginger in an open cabinet nursing her

 Anjo hated my mother and made her life miserable.  One day while I was

Hello, I have three russian Dwarf Hamsters.  My first is a 
female named Dingoe.  She is slightly crazy.  She hopps 
around and climbs the walls.  She had three babies earlier
this year but they all died.  But now she is with Xanatos

Hamsters are wonderful little monsters.  Recently
we (my wife Lesley & myself) lost our little monster, Max.  He was a
long-haired Syrian.  I think if more people should have hamsters as they
are great fun to have but damn depressing when they go.  Max's page can

Bonjour.  Je m'appelle Wicked Rad Obediah.  My mom goes
to Wesleyan University and is great to me, so is her 
roommate, even though I did pee on her physics notes.  
I'm white but not an albino and am fluent in French.  
I used to be pregnant (according to the pet store owner)
but now I'm a boy.  Go figure.  My mom named me Rad 
Obediah 'cause she thought it was a rad name, but her 
roommate is from Maine so I became Wicked Rad Obediah. 
 All of the dorm thinks I'm cute and I frequently roll 
down the dorm halls in my travel ball.  I live in my 
Habitrail Villa alone but content!

I didn't really say much last time for I didn't have 
that much time.  First off I had a hamster that lived
for about seven years. (if anybodys' hamster can beat 
that lets see it).  I lived in an apartment at the time
and after about the third year of having him-his name 
Hoover-I lost him in the elevator.  The building only 
had eight floors, yet it was still a frantic search.
On the good side I did finally find him, I was so releaved.
to were I am now and after about four years he died.
He went so stiff so fast that the first thing that
came to mind was, hey this would make a great hockey puck.
but mom wouldn't let me so I buried him beneath one of
our concrete patio slabs. In loving memory of my pet hamster
Hoover.
