They dont have a catalogue, but do have a photocopied price list of all their items. It isnt illustrated. What I think of their products
All of the Shire Scenes models are exquisitely detailed photo-etched brass sheets. The fact that everything is made from sheet does pose certain limitations - you cant make domes or curved automobile parts using brass sheet - but the detail is incredible. The etchings are works of art!Usual disclaimerShire Scenes sell small detail items such as various types of station benches, telephone boxes (telephone booths in North Americanese), trolleys and barrows, etc. All unbelievably detailed. And somewhat expensive.
In addition, Mrs Francis sells handpainted detail items - white metal items from the usual sources. (Langley and P & D Marsh) Convenient if you dont want to bring out the magnifiers and paint them yourself, I suppose.
Because we live in an absurdly litigious world, please note the following. First, I have no personal financial interest in any companies mentioned here, one way or the other. Second, all trademarked names are owned by their respective owners and are mentioned here purely for identification purposes. Third, no guarantees, express or implied, are made regarding the accuracy, fitness, whatever the hell about any of the information or opinion presented here. And finally, much of this is opinion of the author; nothing more.Text copyright © 1997 tela design.
